Product Information:

The all new VRTuned ECU Flash is here and pulling more power out of the i8! Just because you have an hybrid doesn’t mean you can’t pull more power out of it and have a little more fun in it. VRTuned has just finished the ECU tune for the i8 with some impressive numbers of 30HP gain over stock to the wheels on our in house mustang dyno and relatively close numbers for the torque also. This tune is available with the OBDII iFlash cable which allows you to install the tune on the car without pulling the ecu out. You can also switch from the tuned file and back to the stock file so no worrying about a warranty issue.

I don't know anything about Vivid's ability to tune - although these gains look nice - but I'm pleased at this tuning solution as OBD tuning allows us to load and unload a tune from our own garage.

I think it's cool that the stock i8 is pushing about 390 hp account for 15% loss. Not too bad. I'd be interested but not without vbox results.

Both of those are times from the mustang dyno that has a quarter mile feature on the dyno.

Currently only have the 1/4 times

Thanks for posting the times. At least I know my Gintani tune is actually working with my consistent 12.3 times. I do like the convenience of your odb port tuning but I think your price needs to be a bit more aggressive to take customers away from Gintani and the other tuner in Miami since the Gintani one provides a bit more hp/tq

I ran a 12.3 stock, consistently at famoso in Bakersfield. Don’t know that 30hp will do anything in the quarter. But probably a nice boost.

Presume that is a simulated 1/4 mile while the car is stationary on the rolling road? If so, you may get better in real life due to low drag design of the i8 (or does the dyno have a variable for that?)

Thanks. Does the tuning platform allow us (the customers) to change any parameters of the tune?

Does the tune affect the electric motors as well as the turbo? A lot of complex algorithms involving front/rear balance on the i8.

The file does not allow changes for this tune.

Yes this is the simulated 1/4 times on the mustang dyno so real world results will differ.

The tune does not affect the electric motors, only the combustion engine.

Think that was the point of the question!! It's setup stock to balance two very different power sources.

I'm guessing the tune power increase for the turbo is within the range of adaptation for the computer to work out the balance issues for handling.

Correct. Nothing is pushed so far that the oem system can't adapt to the new parameters.

torque gains went from 320nm to 380nm so that 236ft/lbs to 280ft/lbs So a gain of 60nm or 44ft/lbs (these numbers are at the crank)

This tune on a 2019 would put total HP and torque over 400...
