Attacking the market for electric family sedans is like attacking the population of the Antipodes Islands.

What is somewhat scary is Autobild's projected price of "not less than 50,000 €. Thats $66,000 USD to you and me.
First of all, Autobild is famous for colorful Photoshops 8without ever saying they are not real pictures) and big headlines, not so much for credibility. So don't read too much into it.

But on the other hand side, my 135i was over €50,000, the same one was available in US spec for under $40k. So üplease consider that as well..

I can't stand Hybrids. Not only are they all ugly, but 99.999999% of the Minions who own/want one have no clue what it takes to manufacture one, but they will spout off all of it's "green #'s" to you all day long. They're also costly to maintain if something goes wrong. Fcuk Hybrids. I'll take a gasoline powered 4-banger engine over a Hybrid any day of the week.

One of the most hated cars (By people who don't drive them) is the Prius and BMW designs one to look like it? I laughed my ass off when the mini van Prius V came out, looks like BMW thought it was a GREAT idea

As others have said, why not just make a 3 series all electric? why these ugly ass i3 and i5 cars and then the awesome looking i8, makes no sense.

I think these cars are all going to be marketed to California only, BMW saw all the super rich driving a cheap Prius and thought "we could build the same car with with standard BMW features and charge double/triple and they will pay it". And they are 100% right. But anywhere else in the US I don't think many of these will be sold. Europe either, Diesel is King in that far away land

... true and now with the "M Sport", "MXXX", and pure "M" models (not sure what the middle level is called (like the M550d x-drive whatever) there are a lot of variants to many of these series above.

Looking at sales of upscale hybrids last year being almost nonexistent, this car is definitely going to have an uphill battle. People who buy these cars at this price point don't really need to save money on gas.

Yes, because I live in a city where people drive, and are in their cars most of the day. That's exactly what these i cars are being built for.

So says the idiot who obviously hasnt seen sales numbers for Hybrids in the last year 1/2. The only reason this car might do well would be because of the "fanbois".

For electric cars, I wonder what they are going to do with the battery when it dies?
