Dream Car House Call

As I've noted in another thread, I am looking forward to getting the 2018 i8 with the LCI updates. Even though that is still a year away, I had some fundamental questions I needed to evaluate in order to confirm the car would work for me. Two specific questions were whether the car could fit into our somewhat narrow garage, and how would my golf clubs fit into the back seat. To that end, I was able to arrange with a local dealer for an i8 visit to my home. Got my questions answered (no problems) and had a great time driving the car around the area. Can certainly understand why you i8 owners are in love with your cars. Now I can't wait for the next year to pass so I can have this beauty at my house permanently. Enjoy the pics.

That's what I call a dream test drive. As for my experience, which felt somewhat comical at the time, I was relegated to driving the i8 around half a block with the posted speed limit of 25 mph.

I just lay my golf bag/clubs on my front passenger floor and they all fit just fine if you don't want to lug them them in to the back seat

Close. La Canada Flintridge. I was tempted to take the car up Angeles Crest Highway but the dealer didn't have enough time for that. Had to settle for some urban twisties in our neighborhood. Still a blast.

Yes, I figured that would work as well, but I wanted to confirm they fit in the rear if I want to keep them there for a while and still be able to have a passenger with me (e.g. the wife).

That is very nice of your dealer - especially with the purchase not being imminent. The Protonic Red looks great in your photos.

I do this all the time when I am set on a car.

Go to garage say your interested. Get some figures. Hum and Haw. Leave it for a month. They inevitably call. Say you need a longer test drive. I had a i8 for 4 days and then another day.
