BMW trackstar
Does the tractstar 6 priced as £399 fit the I8 as as usual Styner talking a load of BS they are trying to say I need one specially designed for I8 which is £800 so why in the brochure is it priced at £399 !!! I've tried contacting BMW direct and again they haven't got a clue and just direct u back to the dealer

The Trackstar 6 fits fine @ £399 plus £399 for 3 years subscription (I think).
My insurance originally stated a Cat5 tracker but it is not possible to fit these to the i8 as they need access to the ECU. Managed to get a compromise from them to fit the Trackstar 6. |

My first year of ownership many insurers wanted Cat 5 but not second year shopped around (forget comparison sites) and was quoted £223 + £30 for protected no claims < £75k value > £75k pushed it up to £400 still not bad |

Hmmm I am looking to get a CAT6 tracker fitted next week. I can possibly understand CAT5 trackers needing to be more tailored to the i8 but can't see why a CAT6 would run into any problems, sounds like BS from the dealer to me.
Either way I think this company are selling the CAT 6 one that BMW are saying is needed for £195 fitted? http://www.vehicletrackingtech.co.uk...-trackers.html |

Always worth a call to Trackstar if you're buying s/hand as you may find there's a unit already present. |
