To debadge or not to debadge, that is the question
Contemplating whether I like the look of the car better with or without the i8 and edrive badges..just wanted to check on what are everybody else's thoughts??

Not a fan of the badges, especially the edrive. I removed both for consistency.

I see nothing wrong with them. What's the problem with letting people know the car has an electric motor? In certain cities (London could be an example), the badge may save you from vandalism by people who think it's just another noisy, polluting wanna-be Ferrari. People there specifically get painted outside mirrors for their S and RS Audis, because the silver ones are a give-away and get kicked off a lot.

I was thinking about debadging more for cosmetic reason, just not sure if i like how the emblems look, especially the edrive's bulkiness..it makes the back look too busy imo, but I'm also hesitant that full debadging might cheapen the look, and that I might regret it And luckily I don't live in any cities like that, does sound interesting, I've never heard of that hah..but that is a good point for people who do |

Bumbaclot, you can always put them back on ,it`s no big deal. I also think it looks too busy with all those badges on. Also, without the badging, it makes the `lesser educated` car owners, wonder what the hell it is !

I'm so on the fence, I feel like the look without the badges shifts all focus on the middle main Bmw badge which now stands out a lot more..maybe I'm overthinking it

First thing I did was to debadge. I asked the dealer to do it on delivery.
So much cleaner, premium and symmetrical. Don't mind the i8 but the edrive logo is awful. |

I am the only thinking this should have two BMW roundels on the back like the M1 did?
Would have been a nod to the only other mid-engine beemer.

It would have had to be designed-in I think, shame really as the M1 is getting a lot of press these days.

Apparently, a lot of you spend a lot more time looking at the rear ends of your i8's than I do. I just get in and drive without noticing the presence or lack of the badges.

So I personally don't have, nor have i ever kept the badges on any car except for my M4, and the only reason why i kept it, was because I had the badge painted black. I also feel that removing the badges, gives the car symmetry and a clean look. I don't think that by having it on you are going to have more people say "It's a BMW I8, oh now I know what it is" People are going to ask with or without the badges it's that kind of car. Even when i tell them "it's an I8" the response is usually what is an I8 lol!

Not everyone cares nor is even remotely versed with cars- that when they ask what kind of Bmw is it- and responding "an i8" they're left with this clueless look like "ok??" I've learned to just say "it's one of their hybrid models" to those reactions
