A few pictures of my new i8 which I took delivery of 3 weeks ago.

Car has been in for a full new car detail and protected with Gtechniq Crystal Serum ceramic coating, topped with Gtechniq C0V2 sealant.

Unfortunately the car is back at the dealership since Saturday with a loud whining noise. Spoke to them today and they think the electric motor is faulty, so who knows when I might get it back!!

All comments on the car appreciated!

Nathan has worked wonders. The paint was in absolutely shocking state for a "brand new" car!!

Love the Protonic Red Edition Best color for the i8 in my opinion.

Interesting...I thought all non-US Protonic Red cars had the red trimmed seats that BMW originally showed. Yours has the Amido Black interior without any of the red trim that certain other markets got. I dont know why BMW sent it to some markets, but not others.

Got a few layers Ceramic Pro 9H coating on mines when i first got it. The paint needed to be corrected as well when I picked it up, don't know why new cars are like that. But the coating works wonders when it rains and the dust doesn't stick at all.

This is the only picture I have in natural light. Car is still at dealers with the electric motor fault, but will take some more when I eventually get her back.
This was pre-detailing also.

That's much better ! Yes I likey very much !! I have a white one, but to be fair , they all look good when they have been detailed. Every month I treat mine to a detailing Wax and it looks the nuts ! Congrats on the new Red though !

I spoke to the dealership this afternoon and they confirmed that the electric motor is faulty and that's where the whining noise is coming from.

They have to replace the electric motor, which unfortunately is on backorder from Germany and won't be here until middle of next week earliest, which doesn't bode well for me getting the car back before Christmas!

Am picking up a loaner 7 series from them tomorrow, not really my thing but sure it will be smooth to drive!

congrats on the car! sucks about the motor but the 7 is a pretty cool loaner car....launch control that thing too lol

That's not great, fingers-crossed for a speedy resolution once the replacement arrives.

On top of that I'm seriously hoping they don't mark the paintwork after Nathan has done such a great job, otherwise they'll be getting a large bill for getting it redone!

Such a shame to hear about the motor fault - hope it gets sorted quickly. On a positive note, the car looks stunning. I checked out Nathan's website and he even has a youtube video of the work he has done to your car... the condition of the paintwork was shocking before he worked his magic!

Yeah I got my Red i8 coated with 4 layers of Ceramic Pro 9h when i first got it. Like the one in the video mines was all swirled up from the dealership. I'm convinced that they're partially retarded when it comes to detailing a brand new car at these dealerships, makes no sense.
