Condensation in headlights?
Looks like I've got some condensation in my headlight (LEDs), likely a seal failure of some description but it's both sides.
Anyone had this and had new lights under warranty?

I've been getting minor fogging immediately after rinsing it off in a coin car wash, but it goes away pretty quickly. I attributed it to the hood damage, so I asked the body shop to inspect it as part of replacing the hood, but now I wonder if it's a coincidence.

Took a few piccies...
Looks worse in the pics and when parked in my dark garage but clearly shows condensation (it's def not on the outside) - and a lot of it.
No sign of damage to the lenses so assuming it's a QC problem, was hoping others had experience of the warranty aspect before calling my local dealer!

There's actually a note in the user manual about moisture in the headlight which says:
"During cool or humid weather, the exterior lights can mist over. When driving with the light switched on, the condensation disappears after a short time. There is no need to replace the headlight glass. If there is an increasing build-up of moisture despite the headlights being switched on, for example water droplets in the light, the manufacturer of your vehicle recommends having the headlights checked by a Service Partner of the manufacturer or another qualified Service Partner or a specialist workshop." So I think it's classified as normal, as I seem to recall that the lights vent to atmosphere so there will always a chance of condensation forming. |

Thanks for the useful info, I didn't know that.
I'll check to see if it's cleared out. I always thought it would be sealed for life as LEDs are supposed to last forever!

Checked again last night after a day & night of standing idle, no condensation at all !
Still surprised they're not sealed units, maybe too much heat would build up inside?

Update: My headlight was actually busted when the idiot backed into it, so they are replacing it. That probably explains the condensation for me.
