Ecotricity to charge £5 for 20 minutes

In the UK Ecotricity currently free charging points are moving to app driven pay as you go

Only worth it for CCS equipped i3's and even then its upto 5 times the cost of home charging

Not sure how its going to work will it switch off after 20 minutes ?

I've used one at Cornwall services as a top up in 20-30 minutes gets me from 60-90% if I'm lucky only once have I returned to the car with it still charging, nearly always cuts out only adding 10 miles or so to the range.

Connection charge and kWh rate would have been better, it must be a killer for slower charge rate cars - it will certainly stop the likes of PHEV cars topping up and hogging the points

If I was a serious user I'd look at their domestic rates as Ecotricity customers charge for free

That is the reason I think - they are trying to discourage PHEVs hogging.

Shame as it made a trip to Exeter viable but now it wont be!

Still need to meet up!
