two tones are much better. Wider wheels would set this car apart from the rest.

Unfortunately, BMW now only offers fluffy cars.. with zero BMW heritage & focus.. the reason after 30 years of being a BMW enthusiast, I can honestly say there is not a current car in BMW's lineup that I would want to own. That is pretty sad, given that 10 years ago I coveted many BMWs. Today, I am told to wait two more years, until BMW graces us with the M2...
First of all, do you have nothing better to do than bash bash bash? I mean reading through your posts you go so far to insinuate that the M235i won't possibly compete with the new Mustang

But besides that, I mean if you don't want to buy a single one of BMW's new offerings...what are you doing here then?

Meanwhile, over the next few years the rest of us are going to reap the benefits of the "billions" BMW is investing in CFRP materials while you can have fun in wonderfully heavy Audi's, Mustangs, and the like.

Yep! I like it! Anyone notice how in every shot that has other people in it, someone is always checking the thing out. I like it in this scheme. I WOULD change the wheels though. Something aftermarket and more athletic to match the car.

I love the style of the i8, very sharp. Side view mirrors are HUGE. Looks similar to when the E90 went to the dumbo mirrors.

Curious whether these are touched up photos or the real thing. Interesting alternative if it were offered in this solid body color as well as the two tone.

The gas engine is at the back of the car... The electric motor is what's under the hood.

I like the rear, and the side profile is ok, but I the front is just wrong to my eye... Especially the bumper.

The larger issue for me is the product itself. I love the idea of leading the industry in bringing CFRP to the mass market; I can even support the goal of making a new kind of halo car... But this car just doesn't add up. High fuel efficiency and low emissions doesn't sync well with high price, near-zero practicality, abysmal ingress/egress (arguably it's largest fault), and mediocre performance. Instead of showing a great vision, I think it shows confusion and a misguided path.

At least the Active Tourer has practicality... The i8 is the Ultimate Poser Machine!

car is def an eye catcher.

I still get whip lash every afternoon I see the test mule drive by in blue camo. The lines on this car are stunning I can only imagine what it looks like without the camo in person! Can't wait to start to see these around

I'm much more of a fan of the two-tone white/black, with those wheels. This car has very pronounced lines which, I think, are very positively accentuated by a two-tone color scheme.

I agree on performance upgrades, especially if there is any way to wring out more performance from the electric motor without replacing major components (which I would think would cost a LOT of money and void your warranty pretty quickly).

On different wheels and wider tires, I'm really on the fence with that. When choosing new wheels, I'd be very conscious about weight. Would it not partly defeat the purpose of this car to throw bigger, heavier wheels on it? Wider tires could help somewhat, but might not be too necessary as the car only weighs ~3300lbs, has great weight distribution and a very low CoG. You don't need much tire for a car like that.

Aesthetically, sure...but this car is all about performance AND efficiency, it's not an M6.

Meh...

The blackout bumpers look better. Blackout grills are nice though! I understand i8, trust me I get it. But a car that looks that good should go hyper fast.

They got rid of the absurd blue. Looks better.

Wheels are ridiculously bad though.
