I feel like the i3 is so avant garde for a city commuter type vehicle. The i8 really pushes the envelope, which I believe halo cars should do.

I like them both a lot, I feel each one serves its purpose well and both set new standards to follow, as always BMW isa trendsetter and innovation leader. I am unsure if I will ever be able to buy an i8 but an i3 seems like could be a very good option.

The i3 looks less boxey from previous pictures. It also looks like it would be fun to drive like a MINI for some reason. The i8 is just full of awesomeness!

One flaw I see here is what happens if you decide to turn on the AC or the heater? Will it offer heated seats? Heated steering wheel? Your range gets cut in half because all of these will sick life from the battery. Clarkson will tear the i8 a new one just like he did the Tesla.

Damn the i8 is so sick. I wish it had a 450hp V8 under the hood though.

Ha! I was thinking the same thing. But, he's more of a comedian than automotive journalist anyway.

Amazing

If I could only wish the i8 won't be expensive as all hell.

A major problem with both, is for those that love to drive in their underwear. They're going to be flashing the world.

dont worry, they wont have glass doors like they do there. they still have to pass safety and crash testing.

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

I dunno but somehow it sticks in my mind that BMW mentioned that those systems would run off regenerated energy from brakes etc...?

Anyone else notice that the i3 appears to have the same big Brembo brakes as the 135i.
