Test drove the Ghibli and the Quatroporte as well as the Jag F-type R--fantastic cars! Made the mistake of testing a GT-R last that day. The GT-R is beyond amazing....just incredible and blew the others away. GT-R is now the balance to the i8.

I have a number of cars in two locations, Scottsdale AZ and Pittsburgh Pa. In Pitt, where I keep the i8, I have a Volvo XC90, Mercedes S550 and Chevy Avalanche. If I pick up a fifth car it'll likely be something naturally aspirated and really fast like a Huracan.

I actually did drive a GT-R, as well as an AMG GTS before I bought the i8. All three were great, AMG GTS was a little too cramped on the interior but I thought it felt a lot like my Ferrari if it was made by Mercedes. The GTR was manic in its quickness but I didn't love the interior and how when I let off the gas I would occasionally lurch forward.

Of the three cars though the i8 stuck with me the most, which is why it's in my garage

Still have my E46 M3 Convertible 6MT for fun in the sun, my E39 540i 6MT for people hauling and my Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport Pickup for golfing and other nonsense.
Why give up the F82 esp w/ 6MT--that's got to be a great ride?

It was a phenomenal ride and I'm going to miss it dearly but I got the opportunity to get in to the i8 for not much more than what I was paying for my M4 lease. Plus I have equity in my M4 so trading out of my lease now was the right thing to do.

My M4 had intake, exhaust and a full ECU tune and I'll miss all that power and sound, not to mention the 6MT, but the i8 has always intrigued me so I figured a 30-month lease would be enough. I can always get in to another M4 but being 32, single with no kids and as of now, my knees are still functional even with all my sports injuries, I want to do it before it's too late lol.

Once you get a feel for what the i8 can do, you'll love it--totally different from the M4 but totally fun. The key to getting in is to 'sit n' spin' on your butt rather than traditional legs first--not an issue once you do it a few times!
