Ah, that explains that then lol. How are you finding the car now that you've had it a little while? What's your mpg and electric range like?

Glad you're really pleased with it. However when I had my dealer's demo for several days my overall fuel economy for those few days was 37.3mpg UK (31mpg US), which I was very disappointed by.
Based on your BMW i App snapshot, has your mpg ranged from 25.0 (30mpg UK) to 39.4 mpg (47.3mpg UK), with your last journey being 6.2 miles long with fuel consumption of 26.1mpg (31.3mpg UK)? If so, is that not rather disappointing for a car that has a claimed 134.5mpg UK?

Not trying to slate the car, just that I am very disappointed by the fuel economy. I wasn't expecting 134.5, but was expecting to get c. 60mpg UK (50mpg). So to find that I got an average fuel consumption of 37mpg UK, which is not much better than what I used to get from the Porsche 981 that I sold to make way for my i8, was very disappointing. That coupled with the lower than expected max. electric range when fully charge being 15 miles, seriously made me reconsider my order.

I guess I have not paid muchattention to the mpg stuff since car is still so new and somewhat of a novelty. Over time I will look at the data, but for me, I must admit, I don't drive in e much - I like the roar of driving in sport mode.

I know that may sound shallow and not very 'green' , but just being candid.

But, I do agree the car should perform as BMW has marketed it.

:-)

Drive it how you want lol. I wouldn't have minded 37mpg UK average if I was driving it around in Sports mode most of the time, but TBH I had the car in Eco-Pro mode for c. 95% of the miles driven!

Just driving around the neighborhood and getting 39MPG comparing to 16MPG in my 335IS makes me smile.

I average approx. 45mpg in what I call normal driving around town. I find that using the "hold charge" function to be the best way to maximize mileage. It really helps preserve the battery for when I need it. With that said, with aggressive driving, I get 30-35mpg. That 2-3 times what I get in my M cars. On the track, I got 12mpg vs 6mpg in my Z4M
