Self Healing Grille
How long do these take to self heal? I've been waiting an hour or two with no joy.
Grr. |

All kidding aside, always sucks to see someone's ride smashed up. I hope it all gets sorted soon for you. |

Made me chuckle thanks.
I am surprised all the sensors still function, with one minor exception - the front camera is slightly obscured but still functional. |

I had mine replaced due to a heavy rock hit. No issues with the bumper. Expect to spend about $2K.

Have you tried the hairdryer trick as it speeds up the healing process!
In all seriousness; that sucks; glad no-one was hurt, and I hope it’s fixed soon. |

All the sensors are functioning. Lane assist works, active cruise control etc.
After they hoik the bumper and grille off, then it’ll need a good old calibration. |

£5000 in parts required…plus a hood/bonnet if the two little dints can’t be repaired. 13 days estimated for the repair once the parts arrive…whenever that will be.
What a palaver. Note to self: Be more careful in future. I am puzzled why the car didn’t slam the brakes on on my behalf. The car won’t let me reverse into my garage far enough without doing an emergency stop 12 inches from the wall. |

If the bonnet is only slightly dented I'd take it to the best local 'Paintless Dent removal' firm to see what they can do; sometimes they can perform 'magic'. Plus if that only costs you a couple of hundred Quid, it's not the end of the World if it doesn't work. BTW: I also find the front and rear ends of this car to be bloody difficult to gauge accurately, and find myself relying almost 100% on the surround cameras when trying to park. |

I’m not sure how closely spaced the front US sensors are on the iX. On my older Acura and Honda there is a definite blind spot between the sensors where you can hit a pole or similar object. |
