^That is the exact car on Manhart's official website is it not? It says 362ps. And you're telling me my hp numbers are off because I said 40hp and you're correcting me saying it's 42hp? Lol

And actually Gintani, which is the tune I have claims 60hp and 100tq. Whether it's true or not I'll never know since I didn't do a before and after dyno, but hopefully on the 11th of this month I'll head to famoso and my time slips reflect better times with the tune. You can verify their claim here:

http://bmwi.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...ght=Gintani+i8
Their website is not showing the actual hp on that particular car, and I was correcting the 40hp when in fact it's 6xhp + please read your own post (my post refers as 42xhp as 427hp.. give or take). Lastly My car was the first car that I know of to be tuned in the U.S. and put on the dyno with official numbers.

I could care less about the spider version I like metal above my head in case of a rollover. But it looks awesome and capable of driving in the snow. BMW keep it up and push the i8 to its technical limits.

Well, then I guess the i8 coupe isn't for you, either. No metal in the body.

I do believe the data on their website is for the actual car. Because it states "BMW Standard Exhaust", for instance, but lists the wheel and interior modifications.

If they had made performance mods, why wouldn't they state that there too?

They also mentioned how the front air vent in the bonnet (or "hood" for my American friends) needed adjustment since it if they left it as is, the warm airflow coming through would end up passing over the windscreen hitting the driver/passenger when the roof is down. The pics seem to show this modification too.

Additionally expect a battery improvement giving up to 60 km / 40 miles on e-drive for the coupe (maybe a bit less for the convertible due to additional weight).

Soft top is a big disappointment. Completely unbecoming of a futuristic machine. Hopefully they offer mechanical upgrades to the coupe or I'm out. I8 was a nice stop into my first hybrid, but in 3-5 years there will be many hybrid super cars on the market. As soon as the 488 replacement comes out as a hybrid look out.

I agree. But the i Division is fetishistic about weight.

Correct, weight is the reason they cited for the soft top.

A carbon fiber removable hard top can't weigh much more than a soft top.

I hate that they've gone with a soft top and I've actually always wondered why BMW has never used carbon fiber for a folding hard top. I remember wishing they would make a hardtop convertible M6 with a folding CF hardtop as I hate the loss of the CF roof for a soft top.

Deal breaker for me. Say what you want about weight savings, I just don't like soft-tops. It ruins the flow, which is a huge part of the i8.

Was really excited about the Spyder...until the soft top reveal.

Sorry BMW. Complete Deal Breaker for me.

Duel removable carbon fiber hard top similar to Porsche 918. That's what the car needs. Get it done BMW....

The camo is pretty much meaningless. Why bother?

There is always the aftermarket. im sure companies would gladly make carbon panels in place of the softtop.

Agree 100% But too late now for this model.

For me though, the loss of rear seats mean it is not an option for me. I've found my rear i8 seats to be extremely useful, making me use the i8 a lot more than I would have used it otherwise.

I would agree that the rear seats are very usable and make this a true DD.....
