Perhaps the best news to arrive from BMW.
Quad-motor drivetrain combined with infinitely adjustable torque vectoring at each wheel (limited only by laws of physics and traction) will transform the handling characteristics. Both the wait periods and ADMs will be higher than average. Cannot wait to see and hear experience the production model. |

I would love for this to be my next car. Instead of the Neueklasse, I actually love the way the i4 looks, and enjoy the practical hatchback form factor of my i4.

Well it should still handle well considering a 5000lb Taycan Turbo S GT turned a 7:07 Nurburgring lab. That would beat any lightweight M car, while still running low 9 sec quarter mile times. This quad motor M is supposed to be easily over 1000hp with some estimates as high as 1243HP. That effortless power would be fun in everyday driving!

Today it's 60 miles from the nearest charging station to end of the Tail of the Dragon (Ford City, two 6.6 kW chargers). So you could do one run of the Tail, turn around and head back to charge, hoping those chargers work.
That's only 120 miles but driving hard, one's range would go down. There are a lot of other fun driving roads in the area, but the lack of charging would make it difficult to drive there. EV sports cars are pointless if you can't drive them anywhere. |

Love it !, Well EVs atm are sitting everywhere times are not the greatest to buy cars as is, and the price war on cars needs a chill pill, i think its a waiting game atm for a lot of people, i mean if the price wars continue why buy now if it drops a couple of thousand in a month or two. Once it stabilizes it will start selling again. And its a good thing if EVs comes down in prices so more can afford them and that in turn will start to put pressure on auto makers to force governments to incentivize building of more EV infrastructure so i see it as a win win for now.
For example my living costs for my own home went from being about 440-550$ a month for mortgage to 1200-1300$ a month, with costs on top of that for food that has increased by a lot. So atm people kinda aren't prioritizing new cars. Not all ofcourse but it is noticeable that the markets aint so good now.

The current administration is putting quite a bit of pressure on US market automakers to expand EV production. In fact, POTUS is supposed to sign a bill this week to further attack ICE vehicle emissions while continuing to incentivise EVs. Right now that's where we are headed. Maybe this will slow down in the near future.

I feel like this is just more of the same super heavy, super fast and super expensive EVs that just a few people actually want. Once battery tech jumps 2-3x in density, goes solid state and loose a ton of weight we will see really awesome EVs that will convince way more people.
