I love it and can't wait until it's available in the USA! For my daily routes 80 miles is plenty, and if not I'll have an hour of time to quick charge it between sample runs. It's not so much for commuters though, I can see that, but for people living and roaming inside the city it will be great.

Pics look cool, very much like GT5 photo mode haha.

I want one asap! Seriously 2013? That is awesome!

Regarding range, the point is also to have power stations in the city parking lots. But no, its not for long road trips.
Get a 335d for that!

Please hurry. Please make it affordable for everyone to replace their old tech gas cars.

Right on BMW!

Hmmm I love the electric idea!

Now is the Inline 6 legacy threatened? Will the inline 6 BMW legacy hold up to the future..Hmmm all intresting as it unfolds.

It is nice and everything, but you don't want to have a fender-bender in this car. It looks so complicated, I wouldn't be surprised if you end up changing the whole body...

And it is available now.

Whats the difference with this concept? The i3 is:
Faster, rwd, but has less space and probably is more expensive.

Is that it? For a product coming more than two years later to the market, it better be real good.

Oh wait, it seems it charges way faster.

Thou the Leaf does have the option to charge using a DC fast-charge station, capable of recharging its battery pack to 80% full in under 30 minutes.

All in all, I would need more to be impressed, especially for something coming late to the party. So far I am not.
But time will tell, so I`ll reserve final judgement.
Just the fact alone that the BMW i models will use the standard DC plug and can charge to 80% capacity that fast is impressive and capable in everyday driving situations. I believe it is going to use brake regeneration, which will charge the batteries when you brake the car, but I'm not sure, I hope it does. I'm just really curious what the price tag is going to be for these two i models. I can see the i8 going for at least $120-150,000 range, but if the i3 is going to be around the $40-50,000 range, I may just purchase one.

I guess we will find out in September?

Sweet, looks like the photos are from Vancouver. I've never been there at all but I just got a vibe from environment that it was taken in Canada. Plus, the "New home guide" newsbox was a giveaway too. They made the street signs the colour of Toronto's though. Here's the intersection to one of the pictures:

edit: also, the Canada flag haha. Didn't notice it until after though!

Wow. What a beautiful car. Do you know what the safety features of these are like? I've been in a car accident before and I wan't to make sure that when i get a car its safe so I don't have to deal with finding a car accident attorney again and all of that. I reallllly want BMW to be my next car though.

No I don't think so. The i3 has an electric motor driving the rear wheels so it will be just as smooth as the BMW I-6!
