Interesting duct effect over the rear fender.

Looks good for a hybrid! It is a very promising looking chassis. Super-light & great aero numbers. Hopefully they put a true M engine in it (hoping for first diesel M ) should be well under 3000 lbs if there is only a ICE in there...

Never really realized how close it looks to the M1 Hommage concept.

yes, from the start it was based on m1 hommage concept, which is the most beautiful from all the concepts that came after..
hope the m version looks more like m1..if they ever make one..

With all due respect to the BMW team working on this car, the overall design just doesn't grab me. I am in the target demographic, according to BMW press. I have followed the development of this car, and am certainly enthusiastic and impressed with its propulsion design. Visually, it just lacks pizazz.

I decided to go with the R8, principally because visually it is such a gorgeous car. I realize that its propulsion system is in a completely different category, but that is of secondary importance to me. When buying a car in this price range, it must have killer looks, IMO.

I kind of know what you mean... I really like it, but it doesn't make you say "Wow!".

Having said that, the R8's proportions in profile are awful IMO, and the blade really only works in certain colour combo's. Nice detailing though, I guess we'll have to wait for the i8's full unveiling to see how well executed the details are on it.

Looks awesome, but could buy a GTR and a second hand 320d for similar money

..Interesting.. I look forward to seeing this in monochromatic form in the 'flesh' .. gives quite a different feel without the electric blue over black over silver depth enhancement treatment...
