BMW EV Wireless Charging
Great now the stupid wireless charging tech has come to cars.... I do not care about being "green" but the whole wireless charging is such a waste of energy. BMW claims its 85% efficient, so you have to pay for 39kw to charge the battery to 33kw for example... that kills all the MPG estimates. Why doesnt anyone ever mention how wireless charging is ANTI Green... Seems like an oxy moron when combined with an EV.

I assume the efficiency of the energy use from the outlet to the "charger" is probably the same.
Any charger has energy loss before it gets to the device, which is quite high depending on the quality of the charger, think they say a wired charger is 60-80% efficient. A usb charger plug into a laptop port is probably less efficient than a wall, but it might be the opposite since its not converting AC to DC. So if BMWs charging pad is 80% efficient from wall to charger then 85% efficient from charger to vehicle, that means its 68% from wall to vehicle.
