As previously mentioned, i had it fitted by the bmw i in Battersea. I think it was £2100 including 2-3h fitting. I had a £500 rebate due to a previous issue with dealer. Rui was the guy to talk to there but he is gone. Speak to Chris Maloupas and mention my name (Eric).

I must admit to having little knowledge in CF production costs, but is it only me that feels thousands for a few bits of trim seems a bit rich?! It's hardly a space-age material that requires NASA engineers anymore

It's actually very cheap, similar bits with say Ferrari would cost you £10k.

Ceramic trim is I believe just the top of the gear knob, in ceramic.
I got the CF (pics will follow on a bright enough day to photograph), and it is VERY high quality. Not like the industrial CF used on the rest of the car, and also better than the CF used by BMW on their other cars. Better than Ferrari's CF trim bits IMHO. And infinitely better than the kitchen-ware Lamborghini CF in the Performante. It's a really nice matt finish where the weave is very visible, including the surface texture. Nice to the touch too. |
