Window and Trunk

Yesterday my car was parked outside of my office and when I went to the car in the evening; both side downs were down and the trunk was open. I had not touched the key all day. Wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I am guessing a one-time computer glitch.

I had that happen once. I was in the house. The i8 was in the garage, separated from my library where I work by one wall. I attributed it to the key being in my pocket and me leaning against something -- or body fat. (Whenever my Logitech wireless mouse needs a recharge it turns off my cable TV, too, just as the charge runs out completely.)

What year is your i8? I have a '15 and have no control remotely for the windows - that is strange

I think all BMWs have had this feature for a long time. Hold down the unlock button on the fob and windows should go down.

Maybe it was a hot day and the car was trying to cool down the interior in the most green way possible.

Mine is a 2016 so obviously this is happened a lot and could be a cause for concern for us. Especially leaving our cars un-attended and "locked" outside.

Keyfob in pocket pressed inadvertently, e.g. by another key? It has happened to me... .

Don't know about the other occurrences, but I put my Key fob on my desk.

Hasn't happened a single time in just over a year of owning...

Regarding the window feature, I thought that had to be coded in for US spec.

I've seen hacks against Audis where some clever electronic device is deployed that unlocks the car and drops the windows. Not heard about anything similar for BMW but is anyone who's experienced the windows down scenario possibly a victim of something similar? Or are you parked in a garage/secure area?

It's happened to me a few times. Always when I've got the fob and too many other things in my pocket.

The windows roll down by holding the unlock button; having them roll up needs coding for US cars

Dito.
Both windows were half down, car was unlocked. I removed the key fob and it never happened again.
