That looks like a Mitsubishi 3000GT or the Dodge Stealth from the 90's.

They are a patented design that allows a narrower tire to emulate the performance of a larger width- has to do with the actual camber angle of the tire... more info will come out on these tires in the future.

LOVE the i8 but I'm not so sure about the vacuum cleaner noise it makes...

Maybe I just need to get used to it.

This car is gorgeous. The only thing I don't like about it is the wheels. They remind me of a food processor. I think it would look stunning with something like the 326M wheels.

Excellent. The wheels I actually do like but the tyres are not wide at all, because of emissions and CO2 stuff I guess.

The sound it makes sounds like gear whine from a straight cut gearbox and not electric motors. I wonder if that's what it is and why they chose to use straight cut gears...

The reason for narrow tires is less rolling resistance and therefore greater efficiency.

Interesting. Still not a huge fan of the current wheel design although I'm sure that will change once the actual production car comes out.

I really like the look of this Spyder, it seems much closer to reality than the initial coupe design.

Did anyone notice the curb weight? -1630 kg, that's almost 3600 lbs! I thought this thing was supposed to be about LIGHT weight AND efficiency!

The motors sound similar to a turbine-like jet in the first video with a whistle so nice, like Knight Rider's car if anyone recalls.

Like someone said, the car needs WIDER tires. It looks skinny with those wheels.

i love it how bmw just went ahead and finally became the manufacturer that actually BUILT a future car as we actually imagined it! I mean it's non of that Honda Clarity concept or Volt or whatever. IT looks cool, it is silent... man, and in 10 years time its descendants will be much more affordable. In fact, forget this, I'm curious If I can by the i3.

batteries are anything but light. car itself without batteries probably is very light though.

skinny tyres - 94MPG. what did you expect, 310 rear rubber? come on.
