i8 Driver Crashes into Mercedes
An unfortunate news story today, as we see an i8 getting wrecked. Seems like a driver in the Thailand for whatever reason decided to head on smash with the back of a Mercedes C-Class. The footage of the incident was caught on the dashcam of another driver. Take a look. Apparently the i8 Driver claimed it was not his fault at all but was later proved wrong as another driver had dashcam footage showing the driver clearly rear-ending the Mercedes. I believe the driver of the i8 was on his phone and changing lanes. Should teach us all Don't drink and drive and don't phone and drive. THINK!

Great story. The i8 driver claimed it wasn't his fault. He's a rich Internet businessman. Then another motorist said he caught it all on dash cam and it shows the i8 driver, apparently distracted because he was on the phone, changing lanes and driving right up into the rear of the Merc.

Just came back to reading the forum. I own exactly the same looking i8 in Thailand, fortunately it's not my car that rear ended the Mercedes.
It's not uncommmon for a driver to deny responsibility even though it's obviously his fault. That's just the Thai way. We probably have the most irresponsible drivers in the world. Many of them "buy" driver licenses though they can barely drive by bribing the police. We also have one of the world's most dangerous road systems. I don't have the exact number, but I believe ten of thousands of people die on the roads every year. I can only wish myself luck every time I have to drive long distance on our highways.
