Vorsteiner V-FE 401
Finally got the car back and wheel situation straightened out. Took a quick pic of the wheels - if the weather is nice this weekend, I'll do a proper shoot.

As usual, they wouldn't share. I tried measuring and got around 38 in the front, 45 in the rear. The rear was too pokey, so we took a couple mm off...so likely ~48 rear. As far as I know, their "i8 Program" was using 35 in the front and 42 in the rear, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's the range.

I always get it mixed up...the offset was increased, thereby bringing the wheel in. 38 up front and 48 in the rear would have them poking the same amount further from stock.

they were like 35/42-45 and so you got them to 38/48 ?
I have a setup in mind, they do front 38 and rear 42, I think I could shave a few mm off the rears, so your post was very helpful. 275 in the rear instead of 285 eases the "poking" I think. |

The 275 helped, but I also did that because I had to go 10 wide in the rear. The 285 looked too fat imo. So coupled with the increased offset, it brought it in perfectly. It's really hard to say if they used 35 front/42 rear like they always did and then redoing the rears brought it to 45, or if my eyeballing was accurate and it was 38/45, and they redid it to 48.
You can always play around here: http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php...h=9&offset2=38 http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php...=10&offset2=48 Also, there are pics floating around here of a 42 offset which seems to poke as much as mine did. So who knows...maybe they are using the same specs. I'm glad they fixed it at no cost, but not exactly what I had in mind for custom made wheels. I think 42 will be too pokey...and it really doesn't look good on our car. |

Rear a 10 or 10.5 with +42mm will poke out a bit, you will need a +45-50 |

Love it. It really seems like the wider wheels help. It feels like it has a good amount of down low grunt, and the tune helps throughout the entire powerband. I didn't get to play around too much before I sent the wheels back, since it was rubbing, so I still need to have some proper fun with everything all done.

not a problem if they shaved a few mm, I'm sure they have the right equipment and you can shave 3-5mm from any modern wheel without a problem

depending on the thickness of the backpad of the rim, 2-3mm is ok 5mm hell NO but what I dont understand is how a custom made forged wheels is not up to specs specially with the price tag of a forged rim

as a general rule you should be left with at least 9mm+ of thickness between the bolt seat and the backpad.
TUV approved wheels have 14mm+ of "meat". Anyway, of course, you should check before doing something like this |

What I really don't get is that their gallery car seems to have perfect fitment. Maybe ever so slight rubbing in the rear if you hit a big bump? But otherwise it looks great. I honestly don't know why they didn't give me that spec...considering the $$$ I shelled out. |

Also, shoutout to Keenan @ Wheels Boutique for helping me. There was never a delay in communication, and at no point did I feel "stuck" - I trusted that he was going to see this through to the end.
