I drag raced an NSX
Met my dad this AM at the dealership. He?s looking to get an NSX with all these awesome deals around. We drag raced during his test drive, I actually hung around till about 80 mph and then we walked me.
NSX is stunning in pearl white. Hopefully he pics it up so I can drive it without having to get one myself |

I did a second test drive and your right drives on rails and super fast. Like the fact you can put it in quiet mode.
Transmission seemed to shift much faster this time. The i8 feels like a great handling sedan wrapped in cool bodywork. I think the i8 might be better dd then nsx. Nsx feels like a real sports car though |

And a Toyota Yaris. You will eventually get tired of all the attention and just disappear in the crowd from time to time

Interesting outcome. Would have assumed the NSX would have murdered you. The i8 ?feels? like a slug off the line and my vbox showed 4.4 seconds on a regular street start (not enabling launch control). But then I did a low speed roll against my buddy?s stock 991.1 Turbo with 520hp PDK. We did first gear around 15mph and while I got the initial hit, took until around 80-90mph for him to reel me in and only walked me past that. So sometimes the i8 surprises me.

The gear changes suck using launch control. |

The i8 does have those electric motors that give that quick surge of speed due to the torque.
If you think about it, the i8 performance is really amazing compared to all these cars. Small engine and batteries. Too bad no M version of it. |

Agreed. There is really something to this hybrid stuff. The passenger ride I had in a 918 from 0-150ish mph is something I will not ever forget. Currently the pinnacle of hybrid performance. It was mind blowing. Actually felt uncomfortable. I was watching the mph climb on my Waze app as it was happening and I could not believe how quickly the numbers were increasing.
Stats are one thing but experience is another story. Also how hybrids pull themselves out of corners is the best part. The instant torque and great traction is addicting. NSX has both in spades. In some performance regards it is actually more advanced than a 918. Great car. |

Same here the more you drive it the more addictive the instant torque becomes. Much quicker car than people anticipate.

How is the drivetrain configured on the NSX? I know it has three electric motors, two on each front wheel and one on the rear axle. I read that the fronts is only for torque vectoring during cornering, but do any of them provide that instant torque for launches?

I've never tested the launch control. I'd assume they do. I think the 0-60 mph time is cut from like 3.8 seconds to 3.0 seconds with LC in the NSX so something is happening.

I think I'm going to get one, but a different one. I have a individual
Who takes care of the whole car buying process. Finds the deal, sets up financing (if I want to finance that car), provides some other services that are useful. I currently have him looking for best NSX Deal he can get me across various US dealers. FYI I'm NOT getting out of my S550 lease, those things depreciate like stones in a lake!! |
