What happened to the ambient lighting and blue night light on the 2017s?

Just upgraded to a '17 94AH Rex from a '14 Rex and noticed I no longer have ambient interior lighting. When did this happen and is it related to cost cutting? I have the DEKA interior of that helps.

I have the blue lights on my '15 REX. Not sure about '16 or '17.

On the i8 it's a setting you can turn on and off in iDrive. Check to see if you've got the same setting.

Thanks but I dug thru all the menus looking for that setting. It was there before under Lighting but now I don't see anything. I dont blame BMW for cost cutting since sales are rough but I really liked the ambient lighting that they offer on all the current generation of cars now (makes it feel like like a cave). And not sure how much could be saved on such a minor feature. Now I'm curious whene this change was made.

Thanks for confirming. I think maybe the DEKA interior is bare bones and doesn't have ambient lighting.

Deka interior world removes interior ambiance lighting, lights in the overhead mirror, you do not get individual map lights, LED lighting or the blue light for the welcome lights.

Yup, didn't know at the time but still would have gotten Dekka if I had known since its really easy on the eyes and matches the best with the Protonic blue paint.
