There is a mock-up of an i8 at Concord BMW here in the Bay Area. No internals, just a shell. I think it's a striking car with great tech and I was actually thinking of getting one so I called the dealer to look into it. I was told that 2 were coming in later this year and that they already had 2 firm offers at $250,000 each. I'm not sure I believe the guy but true or not I gave up the idea. BMW is not making too many i8's so even if the $250,000 was an exaggeration I think they are going to be hard to get.

Few additional observations
Few additional observations:
-- there is very little trunk space, a small pocket underneath the rear hatch. -- the position of the steering wheel is controlled manually, which is strange to see in a $100K+ car |
