Coding door lock doesn't work

I really dislike that every time I drive that the door locks engage since when I get out of the car and want to\ get something out of the passenger side I have to unlock the door.
Using the coding guides I tried to use this programming setting to disable that behavior:
Disable Auto-Locking of Doors once begin driving
3000DOOR_LOCK_AFTER_DRIVING_AWAY
set to: nicht_aktiv

But that setting was already set to nicht_aktiv so I am stumped as to how to disable that functionality,
Is there a better setting that fixes this on the i3?

Thanks,
Rick

Yes, try this for the most recent code versions.
To disable automatic door and hatch lock after you start driving:

BDC Body Module:
3040 : VAM_SPEED_LIMIT_ PIA_AUTO_LOCK set to: werte = FF

Can't you just disable that option in door lock settings on the I-drive screen? Under settings?

Nope.

Give it a try!

Maybe I misunderstood what he was asking, our countryman gave us the option of what to do with the door when setting off and you could just tell it to do nothing if you so desired.

Figured the i3 was the same. Since I have comfort access I never had an issue as the door would always open. So I never went to play with options in settings to see if it where their.

Indeed, my M3 has the same option, but not the i3. It's one of the peculiarities of the i3 iDrive system, and great annoyances of the i3 ownership experience. The most annoying element of it is not the doors, it's the auto-locking of the rear hatch that fails to unlock after you park. Thus, if you went shopping and deposited anything in the trunk, the only way anything will come back out of that trunk is by first manually hitting the unlock button. Not the most user-friendly of the processes!

This is also a problem, though less frequent, even if you DO have comfort access and have someone else other than the person with the key attempt to extract the groceries from the trunk.

In fact, it was this very same PITA that drove me to learn how to code the car

All the iDrive UI allows one to do is adjust what happens when you press the physical "lock/unlock" button (page 45):

The car still auto-locks when you drive away, unless you code it to your liking.

I think it is based on being an "urban" car and hence "extra" secure - we have comfort access so is not an issue for us. -

Comfort access does work if you have the key and touch the person opening the door or boot - spooky but fun.

There is also coding for auto-unlock with engine off. It is tied to the auto-lock when driving off feature.

Indeed, although it never worked for me as intended.
I coded auto-unlock to "aktiv", but it wasn't unlocked the car upon parking.

The only thing that did the trick for me (on the latest firmware) was to set auto-lock to kick it at speed threshold of "FF" (aka 255 km/h).
