What's your next car after i8?
Hey everyone- so as many of you, I've been enjoying my i8 now for nearly a year, but considering it's a 2 year lease, I'm starting to think short term future- and can't seem to think of what's next.
I came from a 2016 f13 m6 (manual transmission) and absolutely loved the i8. But not sure what comes after this- What are you guys eyeing? Would leasing a newer i8 for two more years while the new m6 comes out be wise? Totally clueless but grateful to have these first world problems! Everyone have a safe New Years Eve, and hope nothing but happiness/success for you and your family.

I've got my M4. After my i8 lease runs out I'm probably going to get a B7. I really like the high torque. It feels like a locomotive when you step on it.

In all seriousness though, the 570s is an amazing car to go to from an i8. Drove one recently. Beautiful, fun, faster than my 458. Great interior quality. Highly recommend. That R8 though, you can't beat a NA with 600 hp. Reving it out is pure joy. Electronics work fantastic. Interior quality is amazing. Looks better in person than in pics (but imho still not as pretty as it's predecessor). You can't go wrong with either one. |

McLaren seems to be a pretty popular choice!
Will have to start looking into them to see what the buzz is all about.

Lots of great cars out there.
Since I have the speed box checked with other cars I'm thinking of staying hybrid / battery only with my next daily driver. Right now the only car I'm thinking that would be a replacement for the i8 would be the NSX, but I'm 2.5 years away with my lease...so that's a lot of time to see if anything else comes out. I haven't driven the NSX and people are saying it's not all that. Hmmm. Also I'm assuming the fabled 750hp battery-only i8 is not coming out for a long time - 2022 maybe. The McLaren checks all boxes and interestingly is a lot like the i8 from the perspective of entering the car with the dihedral doors and carbon monocoque (although with the Mac it's all carbon). But that's where the similarities end. The Mac is an incredible performance machine.

Here's a question: assuming you want a 2 + 2, so some form of back seat, then what would you replace the i8 with? I get to put both of my kids in the back of my i8 and would prefer to have that option on the next car. My wife drives an X5M so I just need to say I have room for the kids.

In my opinion 2+2's don't get any better than a 2014 Ferrari FF. Can definitely be had for $200k, probably less. You could keep it for 10 years and your kids wouldn't outgrow the backseat. Sounds amazing, quality is tremendous and goes like crazy. A lot like the i8, it really has no direct competition.

I will stay with my i8 for a few more years and then probably consider the successor.
But I've noticed that nobody has mentioned the Panamera yet. It's also available as a hybrid, and the new one looks better. Too sedan-like? A friend of mine has the FF. Very nice car. I remember Clarkson complained about how the AWD worked, but I haven't had enough time in one to comment. McLaren seems to be in a little too much company trouble for my taste. In my experience, businesses with those sort of squabbles turn their focus towards their internal politics and begin to forget about the customer. |

In the same price range my favorite car is probably the Acura nsx, 911 turbo S , and a cheaper car I'm personally considering is the zo6 . Something about 650hp/torque that I really want .
I'm starting to think driving an exotic daily isn't as easy as I thought it would be. Videos , pictures, questions while parked , it's ok sometimes but in some ways it's nice to go unnoticed on a car like an m4 which was great but boring compared to the i8, I think the zo6 would be more fun and way less attention than the i8. |

After reading the reviews I've become very interested in find out about the new Alfa Giulia Quadrafoglio (close enough). I can't wait to get my hands on one in the spring. Remember what Top Gear (proper not new) said about Alfas everyone.

I needed to replace a 4-door...
So I picked up an X6M.
