BMW i8 High Performance Model Spotted?

Update: as @Digitalize pointed out, this looks like the BMW Formula E Safety Car with no livery graphics applied.

Previous sightings of BMW i8 that were speculated to be potentially the rumored high performance model have not panned out.

Is this finally a hint of a high performance i8? This hopped up i8 was spotted today in the parking lot of BMW M headquarters in Garching. It features larger wheels, performance tires, large wing spoiler, large front spoiler lip, M Carbon Ceramic Brakes, and vented rear window. As for things that would not make sense on a production car -- the blacked out rear window could be for camouflage purposes and the roll cage and Recaros could be installed just for track tracking purposes during development.

Or... this could just be a one-off track i8 by BMW? Speculate away!

I think it's an agricultural prototype with the modified front splitter blade for harvesting cabbages at immense speeds. The rear section is for the seasonal worker guy who catches them to hold on to

Yeah I completely agree with you, may be fully electric spoiler, and the car is getting a power boost IMO loom at the carbon ceramic brakes !!! that means it has way more power
