We honor you being our #1 owner
As the others here have stated, congratulations and great luck with your new baby. It is my exact configuration, but I must still wait about 5 months for mine to arrive. We'll all be very interested in your experiences and the little user facts and figures you can share.
Drive on! |

Now I'm at home and driven more. Transfer went fine and no problem at all. The car seems to consume quite little fuel, the range seems not to shorten much even you drive 50-100 km. But I will see more results later on. The first refuel was 33 litres and the tank seemed to be 1/4 left.
I also tested Sport-mode for the first time. i8 fights on really fast when you really want to push it. You really feel all the torque drivetrain can develop and it feels like big V8 engine pushing the car. Completely different than in my old E92M3. Sounds are good also, but don't know if they come from speakers. And actually I don't care since the feeling is great. Fully electric mode is pretty moderate and elegant to drive, but combustion engine is so quiet that there's surprisingly small difference in e-mode and comfort in engine noise. Sport is a bit louder while idling, but pedal to the metal changes all... What about driving feeling? It feels much like my old F430 but significantly stiffer. i8 has genuine mid-engine sportcar feeling. Steering is ultra-sharp. The car feels somehow quite heavy, but still very accurate to drive. It feels much heavier than F430 but is still lighter to handle. Hard to explain. I think it's due low point of gravity that counts here. And btw, i8 IS really wide! I could hardly enter my daily parking hall which I drove in-out without problems with my M3 and F30. I had to proceed walking-speed now and go really carefully. Chemically hardened glass has some tendency to make waves in field of vision. You can see this especially when watching rear mirror. It's probably because of thin material thickness. Not a problem at all, but you can see it. What comes to doors - I gave my 4yr old daughter to push it down and she was able to do it with no problem. So very light to swing it both directions. Here are some more pics of my car.

Here on a ferry. Staff at ferry had long talk with me. They had even alerted eachother to see the car at car deck during voyage (one of them told me before exiting the ship). One of the deckhands had just replaced his E92M3 to F30 335i. Understood this car well. Staff gave me nice service and even adjusted exiting bridge carefully before me in order to get out car fluently.

This pic says it all. When you stop and and open door, it's like raising a flag "here's the most advanced car ever". People drop their bags and run with their cameras to shoot i8. Unbelievable.

Not a good picture (taken stationary due safety reasons), but mirrow view of the rear is great - I love it!
