a 1 make i3 racing series would be interesting... strip out all the non needed bits and the weight would probably reduce by quite a bit. pit stops would consist of scones and coffee while drivers wait for the cars to charge.

maybe not.. but its up to the owner to spray it himself. Idlers have such a wide range of cars, as long as the driver is keen to join in the fun, maybe it might work? hahaha. i think i'll do something else next time. guess not many like the i3.

So much better than the stock. Still reserved to see a render of such a mod with the front & rear, and from other angles.

That the most hitec and innovative compact car ever made can provoke so much ignorant comments in a BMW forum is just, hmmm, strange.

Sometimes I feel like people just want to stick their heads in the sand and pretend that time isn't passing. It's like people who think we should still be using steam locomotives.

You're either trolling, or you're legally blind, in which case I apologize.

Please direct us all to the photo where the Insight looks anything like the i3 interior:

https://www.google.com/search?q=hond...=1440&bih=1013

And no, having a steering wheel and LCD gauges does not make it 1000% identical

"Like" !

Last "Autozeitung" released yesterday (can be downloaded on iPad) , one of germanys most important car magazines, tested the Tesla s vs BMW 750 and the new Mercedes s 500. Winner was the Tesla.

And this was a German car magazine! Cant remember seeing an American car beat BMW and Mercedes before in this magazine.

The reason it won? The engine. We just have to get used to this from now, like it or not. Good thing BMW understands this.

Finally.

I think many people see this as a threat to usual car as we know it. Which explains all the bashing. And frankly if you wanna bash it, bash it for rather poor range compared to say, Tesla, rather than its styling. That way it at least wont sound as the the weak "car is ugly, must be bad to drive" argument.

It usues a lot of carbon fibre in it! Think about it, that\s pretty awesome. Interior architecture is amazing. It is spacious. It looks pretty good for a city car, etc. They will have the i8 to show they can do sports car too, but the design direction is brilliant. I can easily see an SUV with the same shapes and so on. So what if this looks like a VW Bus. it has a purpose.

I'm with you on this, man. I'll keep my sports car but for every day commute in short distance, Id be so happy to have this i3 as main car. My main fear with it is that its range will be awful in cold climates where I live. So I'm looking forward to your review once you get it and see how it fairs in cold Norway!

Also imagine how reliable this thing has potential to be? So much less moving parts. Blown head gasket? Blown turbo? HPPF failures? Exhaust issues? Pressure in ciliners? Spark plugs? Dafuq else it doesnt have that breaks down after few years.

I am beginning to see that we have convinced people regarding the i3 so much that they are planning to order one. Mine is coming soon I have initially chosen ... Subject to change though , but I am comfortable with at the present.

Since we have launched the car , interest has shot through the roof of the four cylinder , we have more orders on top of the 600+ we initially had , significant because BMW will make money on every i3 sold.
A full breakdown of total customer orders will be announced for the IAA.

Congratulations... Go forth fellow electronauts!

Nice. I'm leaning towards the Arravani Gray myself. I'll definitely tint out the windows immediately. Just haven't decided to do the 20's or the turbine 19's. Once there are some serious wheel upgrades I'll probably go for them but I don't expect that for a while. These are not typical size wheels.

This video for the i3 from BMW France shows that colour with the 20" Wheels.

Why does this one have a sunroof while we get cf roof?

I'm probably going to order one in 2014/5 once I see one in the flesh but I haven't had a car without sunroof in the last decade.

Solar Orange with 20's looks amazing, and that would be my choice.

Didn't you say there would be blues, though? And how do we charge it if we rent/live in apartment conplexes which don't have charging ports in garages? Will BMW set up stations like the Tesla superchargers?

I will get the winter package, among other things the car will be heated when you want it when it's charged, and a heat pump that will make the heater more efficient. Where are you from? I will give you feedback sir

This is about how it will look. I think it looks cool.
