Potentially yes (regarding UK supply vs. demand and dealer premiums on early cars), but it's also worth remembering that the i8 is more than $25k cheaper in the US compared with the UK ($135,700 MSRP in the US vs. £99,845 OTR in the UK). With this is mind, the delta between the marked-up prices for early UK cars and US cars becomes less.

And just wondering, is there also a similar government incentive towards the cost of a hybrid in the USA? (I think there is.) We get £5k off here (and zero road tax). (Company cars get additional tax benefits.) |
