Went on a 3 hour one way trip (6 hours round trip) drive two weekends ago. My dog is 65 lbs and surprisingly he seems more comfortable in the i8 then my 15 M3 and Corolla.
Here is what I did. - Put a small cushion on each rear seat -Used a typical dog seat cover (mine has a loop that goes over head rest. Since the i8 doesnt have one, I had to tie it to the baby seat bracket thing). - Moved the passenger front seat up. - Take off back cup holders. - Threw in a large blanket on the door. - Put a dog bed that covers up the whole half + parts of the arm rest. Voila, perfect spot for your dog. |

I have a few dogs, they have their own car a 2016 Jeep grand Cherokee. I had the car redone so it only has the drivers seat for people. They love it.

It would be helpful if those of you who have purchased rear seat covers would provide details and photos.
In addition to my 65 lbs. Aussie shepherd and 3.8 year old daughter as regular passengers, I need to accommodate one or, gasp, two of my three tall (6'4") sons back there as well. Of course the three-son trips would have to be very short, but it would be good to set the rear seats up for a long trip for one of them as well. Cup holder removal and pillows will hopefully do the trick so they can angle sideways or across sideways. Just have to make do until the i10 super van comes out....

No way would I ever put my dog in the i8. Since he's an Australian Shepherd, he'd "redecorate" my interior in a matter of seconds. He's already done a number on my bathroom, living room and just about every other room in the house.
So, he gets to ride in my Jeep. He can catch a frisbee though. So, he can be constructive at times |

When I got my i8 the dealer gave me a doggie bed that fits the back seat because I typically take my dog everywhere w me (he comes to the office everyday for example). He's never been in the i8 though or any of the other fast cars.

Ayrton was never well-behaved. Brilliant, lightning quick, no drool.

People laugh but I have three dogs and they go three days a week to a doggie day care. So I bought them a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee and had it fitted out for dogs the only human seat is for me to be able to drive them. My dogs love getting wet and dirty so they need their own vehicle.
