Guys if its BMW test driver then not his fault.
Can we say that i8 suspension / handling is not as good as other BMWs?

If you watch how i8 is made, you will get what I'm saying.

They'll have a good 'real-world' crash-test wreck to analyse & inspect now! Which is always good, despite seeing this beauty in bits

BMW was going to crush the car anyway. Might as well push it to the limit, see what those limits are and get some real world crash test results in the process.

No Airbags deployed...
Test Driver is a shit job!

You can only hope for the best, that everything is working and when it counts the shit is not working.

I heard a lot of stories where the testcar nearly killed the driver due to some malfunction.

Locked rear axle
Rear wing malfunction...

While I agree he probably won't lose his job, BMW does not typically test cars to their limits on public roadways as that would endanger the public.

Actually, that's not surprise at all. i8 have to be crashed really, really hard if doors can't open. CFRP is so hard that it actually does no deform at all. So in most cases you just change aluminium parts and then it's all ok. According to BMW, i8 is cheaper and faster to repair than ordinary metal structure model; simply because you don't need to repair CFRP main structures never. Doors are carbon also, but you can change them as an unit. And if you total your car, you total ordinary car also, so no repair calculations needed in both cases...

Insurance class for i8 is similar to equally performing ordinary cars, no special fees because of CFRP.

It suddenly occurs to me that you can't have storage compartments in wing doors. But wow they look nice on a crashed BMW.

Only good news resulting from the crash is the i8 can take a hit, the left side seems to be in tacked.
