I like these designs but I'm not 100% sold yet. I was under the impression that BMW was going to reveal concepts closer to production versions (like an ///M concept), but these two still look like they're going to undergo extensive changes for production -- I don't think those glass doors are going to make it.

Talking

Memorable day indeed, no doubt this is the future!!

I can see the 6 cyl. version of this engine finding itself into the new M3- Lightweight inline 6, some CFRP body parts- 330kw anyone??

I suppose we al new the "old school" supercar was on it's way out?

Nothing like this on the market- amazing technology

Performance is really going to suck when the hybrid goes dead. :/

I would put a deposit down tomorrow. Sign me up, she will sit nicely next to the ///M

Way to go BMW, I like when you make me eat my own words

Cheers,

Very impressed with the i8. This is awd, dang... wish it was rwd instead, but still a good design nonetheless. The petrol engine is in the middle so it's sort of a mid-engine car but not balanced like one.

Does anyone know how big is the fuel tank?

as the time moving forward ,bmw is moving backwards with super car concept design wise ...here you can see at pic comparison ...first was the m1 hommage and it was stunning, then less appealing ved and now i8 ,they ruin the front why? it reminds me of 7 series e65...
so what we can hope for production version? we will see...
the i3 concept i dont even wont comment ,its the worst designed bmw ever...

I LOVE how they used Vancouver as the backdrop for their pictures. Also, I agree with most people above that driving that car on the street as in it's concept form would create a bit of a stir.

Now that's what I'm talking about! This is really special! This is really BMW at their best!

Now I wonder, will this be exclusively hybrid? I seem to remember some rumors about a petrol drivetrain too.

Also people, don't forget the possibility of an M-One too!
