Yes we do. It can be done via OBD with our Evolve-R cable too.

The above shows the 60-130 MPH time with the tune. Stock was 12.5.

We were unable to dyno the car properly so I expect it is making around 30-35 BHP and 50 lb.ft torque extra.

What is 0-60 and 1/4 mile after tune? No one ever measures 60-130

Knocking a couple seconds off is pretty good with a tune. Not to mention it's a fairly decent time, especially considering we're talking top-end power which isn't a 3 cylinder's shining point.

60-130, 100-150 are pretty standard vbox measurements for tuners/racers.

Even if they are, the most common benchmarks for performance are hands down 0-60 and 1/4 mile

0-60 and 1/4 mile is a driver's race to a certain extent. Launch is so essential to both of these that you can make fairly significant gains with non "performance" mods entirely. Weight reduction, better tires, reaction, proper launch, etc. In some cases, these alone can result in similar or better times over a "Stage 1" tune alone (i.e. no bolt-on mods, regular fuel). No joke, a guy on here got the same 0-60 on an i8 as my tuned one.

60-130 is the real benchmark for performance gains, especially with tuning. The ability to showcase that the tune can provide consistent and reliable results in that range is actually more significant than shaving off a couple decimal points or maybe gaining a few mph in a short stretch. Think about it, if you get a tune where you start roasting the tires on launch, you're going to get numbers all over the place (maybe even worse than stock).

It's a testament to the tuning company's ability if they can hold up to runs under significant load and not blow up your engine. That's not to say 0-60 and 1/4 mile aren't nice real world statistics, but tuning (in my opinion) is about not being reckless. If you want to go for 0-60 and 1/4 mile, a tune like this would only help assuming you can put the power down properly. It's up to you to shave off those fractions of a second.

Anyways, that's my Thursday rant. Cheers!

I agree with you to a certain degree, but it’s fairly difficult to mess up an i8 launch or do it any differently than the next person. You engage launch mode and go; the only difference will be if you’re still using stock potenza tires or if you upgraded like I did to something like the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s which has grip for days. Even the stock tires never had any problem launching though in my experience.

60-130 MPH and 100-200 KMH are THE benchmark for real world performance. There are too many variables with 0-60 1/4 mile especially with driver skill and traction.

In an informal environment like this it can't hurt to provide both... Regardless tune looks good. Assume it just affects the ICE (via increased boost) and not the electric components?

We never test any of our cars 0-60 to be honest. The launch is just too much of a
variable.

Yes we just tuned the petrol engine it is basically a MINI 1.5 3cyl Turbo engine/ECU.

Isn't 60-130 mph within a quarter mile's mph range? I understand the i8 is usually going b/w 110-115 mph at the end of a quarter mile.

The road surface alone will make a huge difference. A bit of damp, a bit of dust, grooves, little bumps, those pesky little slippery tar-filled cracks, a slight incline that you don’t see or know about, outside temperature ... you name it. Not to mention driver reaction time. All of the above can easily cause differences of a fraction of a second. Not much in the real world, but on paper, it can quickly turn a 3.8 into a 4.1.

Hello - please email us on sales@evolveautomotive.com as not allowed to discuss pricing on this main forum.

I can ask the customer for a reference and we need the car for around 4 hours.

Hey Imran, can you guys do remote tuning? Didn't know you were in the i8 game.

I think you have been only the second person to vbox a 60-130 on this car. I did it a couple years ago when I got it to baseline...but I'm still stock so haven't done it again.
