German tuning firm, Manhart, has posted teasers of its upcoming BMW i8. Though these are just photoshopped images for now, it appears that they plan to maintain the factory exterior while adding bright dashes of paints on some accent pieces, as well as aftermarket wheels and lowering the suspension.

The more important question is what, if any, performance modification plans the tuner has for the i8. That should be answered in time.

I've never understood why anyone would want to spend that kind of money on a car only to turn around and make it look like crap.

+1 to all except the V10 comment (clearly defeats the purpose of this vehicle).

And replacing the Roundels with their own, WTF?

Eh, It looks too flat, and those wheels look WAY too big for the i8.

They have to replace the BMW roundel with their own due to legal requirements in Germany. All of these tuners are classed as manufacturers in Germany, and their cars are legally not a BMW anymore. This is only true if they make a complete car, not if you just buy a tune from them though.

Just look at any Alpina, Hartge, ACS that is the companies official car. They all have replaced the roundel with their own.

Im sure there are better colours to change the accents to, but imo yellow is a step in the right direction compared to the factory blue. Even if it was red, carbon fibre, aluminum, etc. Loving the look of it lowered with different wheels, actually makes it look like a supercar.
