What are i3's Leasing For?
Took my car in for service and they offered me an i3. I absolutely love the car! I do a lot of short range driving any given day so it would be perfect.
Assuming there are still '14s around, what would be a good 2 year lease deal? Someone told me after the incentives ($6000 in Colorado) and being a member of some BMW group (another $1000 off) he pays $120/month. Not sure what he put down but that seems like a great deal. What would be a decent deal on a '15 model and is there any real difference in the new model year? Is there something spectacular about the '16 models which I presume will be out soon. Final question, how are these things in the snow with the tires that they come with? Thanks for your input!

If it is a 2014 model, don't let the dealer make a bunch of money because Colorado has a great tax incentive. I've been reading deals of up to $7k off MSRP before any tax incentives. Do some homework, you might even seek out BMW i3 forums, this one seems to just have one discussion area, others have more. If its a 2015, then the deals are not as hot. If leasing, they should give you another $5500 off (partial federal tax incentive rebate from the leasing company) and there is currently another $500 "buildout cash" it was $2000 last month. Depending on model and options and Colorado's incentive, you could get a 24 month lease crazy cheap.
I mean seriously, why is this forum still named i3 and i4? i4 doesn't exist.

I really liked the i3 as well and was seriously considering it but I think it is not the best value out there if you factor in the limitations of the car plus the investment you need to make in home charging station and winter tires. Last edited by boulderado; 04-10-2015 at 02:20 PM.. |

The money they give you is a tax credit dollar for dollar. And the 4k that Illinois used to give as an incentive was not taxable income so you had it fair and square and they didn't tax you on it later. |

I leased my 2014 with REX for $1,000.00 down on a 3 year, 36K mile lease through BMW Financial for $455.00/month. This included their $750.00 "lease protection plan", which may wind up not being worth it. I still need to find out about the 2015 EV tax credit thing for next year's taxes.
BMW of Columbia, SC still has 3 2014's sitting unsold on the lot. All silver. 1 with REX, 2 without. One of the non-REX models is in the showroom. It features the wood and leather clad interior (Giga world?)and the upgraded sound system, none of which mine has. But, mine has the parking assistant package and the upgraded technology package that that one doesn't have. And it's solar orange; the only one they got in and sold. http://www.bmwofcolumbia.com/new-inv...elections=true

Nashua NH yesterday (4/16/15): $12,800 single payment two year 20,000 mile lease on 2014 i3 with REX and a bunch of added goodies. Too tired right now to go look up the exact package. Maybe tomorrow.
There was a less loaded demo/loaner with 1,500 miles on it that I could have had for nine thousand something - don't remember the exact number. It was quoted over the phone, and I had already made up my mind to go for the one I got. |

Including rebates/tax credits or are they still to be considered?
