Will it clear speed humps?
Anybody seen what the ground clearance is? I live in an area that has so many speed humps and wonder if the i8 will clear them. Porsche 911 just rubs on a few.

Read somewhere recently that it is the lowest BMW of all time, in terms of factory ground clearance. Might scrape if a 911 does.

I've also been curious about this, as I have a couple of bumps to go over in our company parking lot. Might just have to ask the co. to shave them down a bit to protect my future investment :-)

The i8 2.0 will have hovercraft ability to fly over speed bumps. Having to drive over them is just part of the territory for the early adopters

the length of the BMW i8 is 4689mm. The standard width of the vehicle is 2218mm including wing mirrors and 1942mm excluding wing mirrors. With one Dihedral door fully open the width is 2494mm, increasing to 3046mm with both Dihedral doors open. The standard height is also 1298mm, growing to 1958mm with the Dihedral doors fully open. I can also advise that the ground clearance of the BMW i8 is 100mm.

shouldn't it have air suspension as an option
why would they build a street legal car so low to the ground, hopefully it has extremely durable parts that can take hits |
