You say highly flammable as if gasoline isn't LOL. It (hydrogen) makes much more sense than electricity. Mostly because there is only problems with the hydrogen infrastructure, not the cars as is with electric.

Gas and diesel tend not to explode (outside of Hollywood/Studio City) or need to be stored under pressure or kept in a very cold state. Hydrogen still can't be created or contained in a cost effective way, something that we figured out with gasoline, diesel and electricity a long time ago. I'll give you that coal based electricity appears silly at the moment compared to gasoline, but hydrogen is still a pipe dream compared to just about any method of locomotion, including the Flintstone method.

I'll take a flat torque band over a leaking tank any day. Honda and BMW have both produced hydrogen cars, it can certainly be done, but not well and not in any method approaching profitability. It's great in theory, but until you can produce hydrogen in a manner that isn't cost prohibitive, it's a pointless endeavor.

This. I think people are overlooking this.

Not that a single soul will cross shop the i8 with any Corvette, so I'm not even sure why we're discussing this.
Obviously every car has plastic bumpers, however plastic that is so thin that you can see the ripple when driving is a little tacky. Yes he drives the car hard, the way a corvette is supposed to be driven (not abused) and sure, there are some that drive their vettes on the weekends and countless never have to go in for anything but routine service.

There were many running around this weekend in Munich- maybe it was the heat but it seemed like there were just BMWi vehicles everywhere doing laps around the city non stop! Cooling off in the Isar was well worth the crowds though..
