Home Charge Boxes UK

I'm researching having an EV charging box fitted at home ready for my 530e due in early May. I understand that only OLEV approved installers can fit these charge boxes if you are to receive the OLEV grant. The boxes inclusive of installation start at around £130. Does anyone know how much the BMW I Wallbox costs? Has anybody had a charging box fitted at home? if so what have been your experiences, good or bad. Is a plug in charge box better, or a tethered?

To me it was a waste of money for the little amount of miles you get for all the money spent on the box.

For me it was a little different--a deal breaker. My wife was not going to pull out the OU unit, get an extension cord, and plug the things in.

However, with the wall box, she has no issue and she is looking forward to owning her own i3 when her lease runs out on the 328D. Going to miss those 50 mpg trips, though.

It's a no-brainer. The box is essential, enabling much faster charging.
