The production BMW i3 will finally make its debut this Summer and as BMW's first electric car available for purchase, there's plenty of anticipation for it as 100,000 people are reported to have reservations to test drive the i3.

The following video demos some of the connectivity / infotainment features of the i3 concept, previewing some (if not all) of the features to expect in the production i3. Also re-posted below are videos explaining the philosophies and technologies behind the BMW i3 (and i8) and BMW's carbon fiber production.

As innovative as this all is, it is all mumbo-jumbo until we see how these "i" cars drive. I hope they don't contradict BMW philosphy.

Oh man that display is so fluid-smooth and beautiful.

This car is going to make so much of sense for city dwellers. I can't wait to see the production version..

You know what the i3 is going to be? A tricked out and expensive golf cart. Great for tree huggers with a lot of money.

That's a log of work for just lunch.
Nice, a person is taking to me during lunch and I'm constantly checking my iPhone if the car is charged up few blocks away, if not, I will try to extend the conversation until the car is ready...
