The BMW i3 recently had its North American press drives and auto show debut in Los Angeles (currently at the 2013 LA Auto Show).

Hence, the reason why many of you have reported seeing Solar Orange i3 cars around LA. Here are some views of how the i3 looks in the environs of of LA.

Very cool video.

The i3 definitely has a presence and gets looks, smiles, and thumbs up from people - both pedestrians and other drivers.

I was also blasting classical music in mine, so maybe that contributed to the attention

I test drove it. Love it. If you get a chance, take it for a test drive. It's worth it just to experience the thing. It honestly changed my mind from a, "definitely will not buy," to a, "I could see myself driving this as a DD."

My wife and I thought it was a cool car. Rear wheel drive makes this one real fun. The regen braking is crazy. I didn't use the brake pedal once. The whine they make under "WOT" is cool.

Definitely regret not test driving while I was there. I dipped my feet in the electric car world through my Chevy volt. And I'm sold on the idea of electric vehicles. I'm about ready to commit to a tesla...
