This is not correct. The "Born Electric" tag means that the cars were designed from the start with and for electric motors. This marketing language is to distinguish the
i brand from the large majority of other electric/hybrid vehicles which incorporate electric motors into an already-existing ICE platform.
Along with that BMW promotes the fact that the cars
can operate solely on electric power.
