Tesla has the right idea. Batteries should be swappable for the life of the car. Capacities will increase over time and everyone will get the advantage. Or even make people buy the car and make it a monthly for a swappable battery.

The i3 batteries are swappable !
I remember I read somewhere that the i3 batteries will be upgradable as the technology gets better for increased range, so technically anybody who bought a first gen i3 can retrofit these batteries for the newer increased range.
Hey better than buying a new car, wonder if they would make an upgrade package for the older cars that would be cheaper than buying the batteries separately.
Either way cool to see it get over 100 miles now, still need it to be faster though
