I've had two electric vehicles so far. Never had an issue with the batteries. Battery warranties are generally 8-10 years (depending on mfr) and should actually last much longer than that. (How long is your Engine Warranty? Do you expect your engine to last longer than that?)

Batteries get recycled and reconstituted when "done" in any case...
