Uh.. For that spec you get:

- Xeon W2165 ($2500)
- 128GB RAM ($1600)
- 4TB SSD ($2000)
- 27" 5K LCD ($1300)
- Radeon Pro Vega 64 ($1500)

Thats about $9K in raw parts already (those prices above are street prices).

Add to that the following to make a working system:

- workstation class motherboard with RAID ($500)
- 10GbE ethernet card ($500)
- USB-C ($100)
- workstation class Case & Power ($600)
- wireless keyboard and TouchPad ($200)

Now we're close to $11K in raw parts.. Add labor to build it and Windows Pro 64bit to run on it, and then add a warranty, and you're getting close to that $13K price tag (the 14K includes Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro software packages so don't count).

That makes this machine actually a market rate build, no huge Apple tax, and note that if you build it, you cant run MacOS or Thunderbolt 3 devices easily (Hackintosh machines are a pain to run/maintain).

Thanks,

S.
