DTC-button project - need ideas

One of the most irritating thing with the i3 is lack of the DTC button on the center console, so I decided to try to retrofit DTC button.

I have checked the wiring diagram for i3 and i8, and they are identical. That would mean, that the switch button panel on the i3 also include DTC function, even when it miss the button.

I ordered an i8 switch panel, and everything works, except of the DTC button off course.

I´ve checked the BDC coding options, and found this from factory:
FesDtcKopplung - nicht_active
Switchboard_ai_a_enable dtc - active
Switchboard_ai_b_enable dtc - active
Switchboard_ai_c_enable dtc - nicht_active
Switchboard_ai_d_enable dtc - nicht_active
Switchboard_DTC_variant - nicht_active (or something)
FesDtcTasterFehldruckHeilung - nicht_active
FH_taster_einstufig - nicht active
FH_taster_einstufig_rear - nicht_active

After changing all this to active, the button works, but ut just shows the driving mode in HU screen. So if the driving mode are in Sport, it just shows Sport in HU as when you enable the sport with the Eco-Sport switch.

Have anyone idea?
