Bad Bad News
Hey all, so turns out the engine is toast. This is what the shop informed me:
We have noted the engine noise you mentioned and inspected the engine oil and filter, both appear to be in relatively good condition. Scanned the vehicle and no relevant faults stored. Upon further inspection of possible internal engine damage we have found all connecting rod bearings to be in ok condition. We have noted sever damaged to the cylinder walls on cylinder number 5 and moderate damage to cylinder number 6. All other cylinders appear to be ok at this time. It appears that the piston or piston skirt has failed damaging the cylinder walls. We have not identified any further cause of failure at this time as the vehicle was and still seems to be running ok with no faults other than the noise noted.
Im attaching images of cylinder 5 and cylinder 1 which is in good condition for comparison.
