The Spirit was originally ordered/built by NCL's parent company, and was supposed to do Asian-market cruises. NCL usurped it as the Norwegian Spirit, and IIRC it was running out of NYC seasonally a decade ago. The only complaints from some passengers was that the cabins were a bit smaller than their other ships, because the original was supposed to be Asia when it was built Never sailed on it, but did see it in person once when we were sailing out of NYC on the Norwegian Gem and the smaller Spirit was docked on a neighboring pier.....
